Thematic Exhibition :Wonderful World of Kiyokata’s Woodblock Printing for Books

Ukiyo-e, color woodblock prints was very popular among common people in the Edo period. The exquisite technique of woodblock printing and its popularity were taken over to the next Meiji period. Around that time, Kiyokata had started his career as an illustrator producing the woodblock printing frontispieces and the book design.
The exhibition sheds the light on his wonderful works for books and shows the process of making woodblock frontispieces.

Access Get off the JR Yokosuka Line or Enoden Line at Kamakura Station. Go out of the East Exit and take Komachidori Street to the north for 7 minutes. Turn to the left at the antique shop.
Parking There is no parking lot or bicycle rack, so please use public transportation.
