Information on Cultural Assets Division x Kamakura Museum of History and Culture Special Exhibition “Kamakura who reads-Excavation Survey Preliminary Exhibition 2026 dug by hand-” holding

Yoritomo Minamotono opened Shogunate Government of Kamakura, and many people were living a merchant and a craftsman including a warrior in Kamakura from which after a while is developed into medieval town. The trace on which old people such as remains of dwelling and the tool used then were living is often found by excavation research in the remains performed at the city.

 But today is sometimes also lost by the valuable remains it’s possible to know people’s life hundreds of years before where by performed public works for us to live. Thus it’s excavated for investigation as far as it’s possible, the remains lost inevitably is left on record, and to take over in the future.

 I dismount from the inside of the excavation research performed by the degree of 2025 (fiscal year 2025) at the city at this newsletter show, an investigation outcome of circumference remains (the part which is 4,141,233rd 6 Yuigahama 2-Chome number 1240), remains around the Hase path (Hase 1-chome, 212th number 1,718,215), remains from the camp (number 393 of camp on Terabun letter, 11 and others), Takatoki Hojo house remains (3-Chome of Komachi, 428th 2) and remains around Shimouma (Zaimokuza 1-chome, 955th 3957th 1), etc.. I’ll introduce with the material unearthed actually and investigation photograph, etc..
