A message to schools and teaching staff

Kamakura City Kaburaki Kiyokata Memorial Art Museum organizes initiatives to introduce students, teaching staff, and staff at schools and other educational institutions to the art of Kaburaki Kiyokata, Nihonga, and the local culture in Kamakura. We also organize curator trainings and internships to contribute to the education of the human resources who will take charge of museums in the future.
  • Educational visits We approach educational visits from schools in three different ways.
    1. Students view the art on their own using worksheets designed for elementary school to high school students.
    2. Teacher-led tours using the guide to the exhibition.
    3. After listening to a brief five-minute explanation by the museum’s curator, the students view the art on their own.

  • Internships (work experience) Supported by a curator, interns will experience what it is like to work at an art museum.
  • Curator trainings This is a program for acquiring knowledge and skills relating to the activities of the art museum as a whole, and the work of a curator.
    学芸員実習
  • Interns Intended for students who have strong aspirations to museum-related work in the future. The interns will participate in the work of the curator.
