The Golden Age of the Woodblock Print Illustration

Colorful and elaborate woodblock frontispieces had appeared on the front page of books and magazines from the Meiji period to the early Taisho period. Kaburaki Kiyokata, as a popular illustrator, created many frontispieces and illustrations with carvers and printers in his youth.
This exhibition shows his beautiful works of woodprints and also works of the pioneers he admired.
