Yamakawa Shuho: The Successor of Kiyokata’s Aesthetic

Although one of central figures in Kiyokata’s disciples, Yamakawa Shuho, born in Kyoto and grew up in Tokyo, has less opportunity coming into the spotlight. Inheriting a sense of beauty from his master, he produced many attractive Bijin-ga, the picture of beautiful women, with sophisticated brush lines and clear color.
This special exhibition shows Shuho’s masterpieces with his master’s works to make you discover this unknown and talented painter.
