    Born and grown up in Tokyo, Kiyokata had seen changes of the city under rapid modernization with mixed feelings or emotions.
    This exhibition shows Kiyokata’s works of sceneries in Tokyo and customs of the Edo period he was attracted.

    Beauty of Nihonga by Kiyokata and His Contemporary Painters

    Kaburaki Kiyokata had developed his own painting style on the base of guidance of his master Mizuno Toshikata and by study of ukiyo-e. And furthermore, he had been stimulated and encouraged by contemporary painters.
    This exhibition introduces the beauty of nihonga with works of Kiyokata and his contemporary painters.
