Kiyokata’s Works in His Early Days

Kiyokata had started his career as an illustrator at 16. And then, he had become aspiring to be a painter. In 1901, he and his fellows formed the painting study group “Ugo-kai.”
This thematic exhibition introduces Kiyokata’s works in his early days including the frontispieces for books and magazines.
