    Kiyokata and “Kinreisha”, Neo-Japanese Style Paintings in the 1920’s

    Celebrating the 20th anniversary of our museum, this special exhibition introduces Kaburaki Kiyokata’s wide range of his creative activities: illustrations, genre paintings, bijin-ga, portraits and shibai-e paintings.

    Kiyokata’s Passion for Drawing and Painting

    Kaburaki Kiyokata is well-known as a Bijin-ga (paintings of beautiful women) painter. But he also created various works such as outstanding potraits and paintings of theatrical play.
    This exhibition introduces his various art works from his youth up to his later years.
