女形の名優として知られた五代目澤村源之助（1907～1982）のために清方が描いた扇面画。屋号の紀伊國屋の定紋である「丸にいの字」があしらわれた葛籠(つづら)の前に姉様人形が配されています。

Kiyokata painted both sides of a folding fan for the renowned Kabuki actor Sawamura Gennosuke V (1907-1982), who specialized in female roles (onnagata). The anesama ningyō (kimono-clad paper doll) is arranged in front a wicker hamper decorated with the crest of the Kinokuniya guild of Kabuki actors: the hiragana character “i” inside a circle.
